BIG SISTER
BIG SISTER is a female-fronted, four-piece punk band from White Plains, NY. Playing a mix of ska, rockabilly, and surf-infused punk, the band's sound is melodic and straightforward, tight and gritty, earnest and tongue-in-cheek, passionate and upbeat all at once. The band has gained notoreity within the Westchester underground music scene and has become known for their energetic live performances and strong DIY-punk ethos. After releasing an E.P. in October 2008, Big Sister has spent over a year playing shows and working on material for their upcoming L.P. Strange Creatures to be released in 2010. Their influences include The Bouncing Souls, The Misfits, No Doubt, The Cramps, Weezer, Dead Kennedys, and Against Me!. They aspire to play anywhere, try anything, and be heard by anyone.
